Don Doe is from Ohio and now lives in Brooklyn, New York. He went to the Cleveland Institute of Art and Yale University School of Art. He’s both a sculptor and a painter and his humorous, allegorical and sexually charged pirates, women, and literary figures challenge social norms and stereotypes. Doe was a recipient of the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant and the Ludwig Vogelstein Foundation Grant. He has illustrated for the New Yorker and other journals. He has held Art Professor positions teaching Sculpture, 3D design and Rendering at NYSID, NYIT and St John’s University in New York City.
