Nicasio Fernandez is painter from Yonkers, NY who studied at the School of Visual Arts. Nicasio paints with his imagination set on high to create cartoon-like work permeated with the themes of crude violence and slapstick humor. The figures cast in these crises are mashed up versions of anthropomorphic creatures that are cloaked in buffoonery. His work subverts the everyday, Art history and American culture in order to create transgressive narratives. He has recently shown at Lesley Heller Workspace in Young Frankensteins, and at Anna Kustera Projects in Wave Pool. He currently works in Mahopac, NY.
