Janice Mauro will exhibit here installation “Corporate Erect” at Green Kill from Saturday, April 7, 2018 to Saturday, April 26, 2018. The opening reception will be on Saturday April 7, 2018 from 5 to 7 PM. Exhibition hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 3 PM until 9 PM.
The piece is a group portrait of three fictional tyrants who rule an Earth depleted by global warming. The portrait is a prism-like device employed to project the tyrants’ magnified images across the night sky, broadcasting their cult of personality, their dominance, and their control of all resources.
On Earth Day, April 22nd at 3PM, Green Kill will host a staged reading with guest performers and writers, in conjunction with the exhibition of The Corporate Erect. The theatrical performance, written by Joanne Pagano Weber, will incorporate another work by Mauro, the video Emerging Man. These continue Mauro and Pagano Weber’s collaboration on works that grapple with the effects of decades of greed and collusion on our planet and on our souls.
