A mash-up is a creative combination or mixing of content from different sources.
Green Kill is now offering performers, both literary and musical an opportunity to come together, once a month, in an event entitled appropriately “MashUp.” This is an evening about diversity of genre, identity and age. Poets and story tellers are welcome along with noise, funk, jazz, singer songwriter, classical and experimental music artists, among others.
The audience will be treated to unexpected and expected evening of performance.
How “MashUp” is Organized?
“MashUp” acts are scheduled though peer to peer recommendation—one artist recommends another.
Applicants and referrers may write to email@example.com. Shows are held on the second Saturday of each month and acts are chosen based on availability with intent to create variety with a focus on quality of artistry.
The Host for each evening is self appointed from one of the three scheduled performers
How Does the Money Work?
There are no comp tickets permitted except for spouses.
Green Kill charges 10 dollars at the door and divides the money for compensation as follows:
<10 Attendees. Ticket Sales are divided evenly between the individual performers and the sound engineer.
10-19 Attendees. Green Kill receives $30, sound engineer$10. The rest divided between the individual performers.
20-29 Attendees. Green Kill receives $50, sound engineer $40. The rest divided between the t individual performers.
30-39 Attendees. Green Kill receives $60, sound engineer $50. The rest divided between the individual performers.
40-49 (limit) Attendees. Green Kill receives $80, sound engineer $50. The rest divided between the individual performers.
50> Attendees. Green Kill receives $100, sound engineer $60. The rest divided between the individual performers.
How is “MashUp” Promoted?
Performers are requested to send a statement and a few images and some links to music to use for PR about one month before the scheduled event.
Green kill promotes “MashUp” broadly to web, radio and print outlets. A list is available and you may contribute PR
contacts. Performers are strongly encouraged to promote their performance using their private lists.
Is “MashUp” Recorded?
“MashUp” is recorded with high quality video and audio and the files are available for performers to take away at no
charge. Green Kill maintains a “MashUp” Youtube channel on which one song from each of the performers is uploaded
to each event. Performers may request not to have their performance promoted in this way.
