Songwriting became a beacon for me when I heard my first Hank Williams recording as a child. I started following the call of that muse right about the time I encountered my first recordings of Mickey Newbury and Roger Miller. I cut my teeth in the Chicago music scene of the 60’s, lived and pitched songs in Nashville, and played amongst legends in Woodstock, NY where I now live. I’ve followed the footsteps of my influences: Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark and Malcolm Holcombe. I’ve actually met and been encouraged by Guy, and been lucky enough to have made a lifelong friend in Malcolm. I’ve played and sung my songs in every state south of the Canadian border and east of the Mississippi River. Now, after all these years, I’m still on that journey, guitar in hand and heart to the wind; mining my life and the life I see around me, always listening for the next song. I don’t suppose this love affair will end until I run out of road, and who knows for sure- maybe not even then.

Since moving to the New York area, I have shared the bill with Mary Gauthier, John Hall, Malcolm Holcombe, Tom Rush, Garnet Rogers, Tom Pacheco, and others…
