About “Tell Me the Story Again”
“Tell Me the Story Again,” Rebecca Singer’s theatrical setting of twelve poems from Elizabeth’s Cunningham’s new collection, invites you into a magical world you may have glimpsed in dreams or happened upon while wandering in the mountains of the Hudson Valley. Of the many enigmatic characters in the collection, you will meet six on stage, Ancient Dreamer, Temple Sweeper, Sorrow Singer, Courage Singer, Grey Mouse, and Scribe. Through their songs, dreams, and dialogues, a story emerges, or many stories, woven into one.
The piece includes spoken word and choreography, as well as original music by Elizabeth Cunningham and her sister Ruth Cunningham.
Performances by (alphabetical) Ania Aldrich, Elizabeth Cunningham, Ruth Cunningham, Caitlin Quinn, Rebecca Singer, with creative consulting by Cait Johnson
Following the performance, there will be question and answer with author Elizabeth Cunningham and director Rebecca Singer.
