About Robert Dorschel

Screen Shot 2019-10-23 at 3.16.22 PM

Robert Dorschel is an eclectic multi-instrumentalist hailing from Kingston, NY. He does a fair job at creating detailed melodic soundtrack and synth-based compositions. Robert uses a variety of non-standard midi controllers such as the LinnStrument, and triggers video-via-midi during his live performances. In addition, he is haunted by the fact that he failed his “Piano for Non-Music Majors” course in college; as a result, he plays “Chopsticks” for a few hours straight each night while chuckling quietly to himself. https://soundcloud.com/robertdorschel

About Ombient

Screen Shot 2019-10-23 at 3.16.30 PM

Ombient is a conjunction of the Hindu mantra “Om” and the word “Ambient”, a moniker that well represents how Mike Hunter tends to think of what he sonically invokes. It is part meditation and part complex fractal-like unfolding, cascading rhythm and harmonic improvisation. Ombient’s music is very much representative of the feeling of the moment in which it is performed and of the subtle feedback between the audience and the performer, making each performance unique and special.
