About Doug Yoel

When Doug Yoel was born, the radio was ruled by singer/songwriters and rock bands. “It became my obsession as a kid, playing records and reading the album jackets.”
He studied guitar and started writing songs as a pre-teen. In high school on Long Island, Doug began playing club dates, and comedy songs on the radio with Opie and Anthony.
Doug has been performing and releasing his own music since the 90’s, and interpreting classic material. “I’ve always been searching for the perfect song.”
In the 2000’s, Doug produced indie records for blues and jazz artists, including successful projects for Roy Haynes and Lucky Peterson that received accolades and Grammy Nominations.
In 2008, Doug moved to New York’s Hudson Valley, inspired by and contributing to the region’s rich creative community. Doug performs throughout the region under his own name, and with the Americana group he leads, Sometime Sinners. The group has recently received some national airplay with the Doug Yoel-penned “City Song (If You Go Down to Old New York).”
