About Jim Barbaro

Jim’s songs are like vignettes or sketches, and each is a musical chapter that fuses rock, classical, western ,jazz and folk. Whatever the style, the underlying mood is always passionate, romantic and melodic. When you get your hands on a Jim Barbaro CD,you get a healthy pallette of spanish guitars, violin, cello, dobros trumpet, pedal steel as well as traditional rock and folk instruments. It all gets topped off and woven together by Jim’s dynamic, full throated vocals that range from deep and souful to rough ‘n’ gritty to satiny smooth. In a marketing driven industry where artists are discouraged from jumping from genre to genre, Barbaro is not afraid to take that leap and explore the many worlds music has to offer. And all you adventurous and multi-dimensional music lovers are free to come along for the ride.

E. C. Lorick is a New York based songwriter and performer whose songs embrace a broad spectrum of themes ranging from human-interest, to environmental, to political. His writings are essentially a compilation of his stories and the stories of others from past to present with an outlook towards what may lie ahead. All, done to equally intriguing musical arrangements.

Dave Kearney

Songwriting became a beacon for me when I heard my first Hank Williams recording as a child. I started following the call of that muse right about the time I encountered my first recordings of Mickey Newbury and Roger Miller. I cut my teeth in the Chicago music scene of the 60’s, lived and pitched songs in Nashville, and played amongst legends in Woodstock, NY where I now live. I’ve followed the footsteps of my influences: Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark and Malcolm Holcombe. I’ve actually met and been encouraged by Guy, and been lucky enough to have made a lifelong friend in Malcolm. I’ve played and sung my songs in every state south of the Canadian border and east of the Mississippi River. Now, after all these years, I’m still on that journey, guitar in hand and heart to the wind; mining my life and the life I see around me, always listening for the next song. I don’t suppose this love affair will end until I run out of road, and who knows for sure- maybe not even then. Since moving to the New York area, I have shared the bill with Mary Gauthier, John Hall, Malcolm Holcombe, Tom Rush, Garnet Rogers, Tom Pacheco, and others…
